It is really an interesting field for doing research. Mobile learning is quite a latest mode of learning. But I am not sure whether this form of learning is effective and commonly acceptable. Would it be more popular among the teens only? There are many problems which are worth being investigated under this topic.
Looking forward to seeing your research questions.

Recently, Education and Manpower Bureau organized courses on ‘mobile learning’ for teachers.

I agree that mobile learning is fast becoming a popular learning mode in Hong Kong. It can break traditional classroom constraints and help students to learn anywhere at anytime, but I think we have to understand its basic concepts and acquire skills on operation of mobile computer devices first.

Besides, terms like ‘Off-line Mobile Learning’ and ‘Multimedia Guiding’ are also new to me, I think sharing of mobile learning resources and hands-on practice on the operation of system is needed before we put this mode of learning in practice.

We also want to learn more about mobile learning.

Hong Kong is a small place with high concentration on high technology products that mobile learning will be good for testing ground. But for practical point of view, I think it will work better in places which are vast in areas. I am thinking mobile working will work much better in places like Africa or North Western China where people have to travel long distance to go to school. On the other hand, they are limited by the digital divide and the limited resources that they have...

Anyway, looking forward to your presentation.

From the two phases implementation of the experiment, m-learning shows a vast potential in adult education, students changed from biased perception to favorable, they recognized that it is an effective learning aid to them. This research serves as a sound scaffolding for future studies. Even in Hong Kong, a place where we can meet each other without taking much time in traveling, will find that m-learning is effective, since high connection speed and ownership of technological equipment are available for easy implementation of m-learning.

It is an interesting research study. In fact the use of WAP technology had already been introduced in other areas like Vodafone Live and T-Mobile during the year 2003 and 2004. However, WAP still suffer from a few limitations e.g. lack of good authoring tools, lack of openness, and contrained user interface capabilities. Security is also a problem to be investigated. Nevertheless, the research provide an insight and possibility in m-learning. A nice presentation!
